All answers can be found in our textbook or in materials passed out in class. Using the Internet on Utah Studies assignments usually takes more time, is less accurate, and more frustrating for students. Save time and energy by using the materials provided.
Can I check out a Utah Studies textbook to keep at home. You don't need to! The book is on our class website!! The printed books we have are for in class work only and will only be check out in emergency situations. If you do not have a computer at home, you can come and work in my class or use the computer labs to do assignments before or after school, and most teachers will let you work on assignments in PEAK.
What do I do if I am absent?Check the website for assignments and activities that you missed. You can print them out at home if you want to finish them before or while you are absent. You can also get a copy of the assignment from the Absent Student Assignment Box in my classroom. You are responsible for getting your work! Please do not come into class and ask "Did we do anything while I was absent?" Of course we did!! Once you have the assignment, feel free to visit with me after school, or in PEAK, if you don't understand the work.

Can I get my assignments ahead of time if I am going to be absent?Sure! The best way is to check our class website and print them out for yourself. You can even do them and turn them in before you leave! You can also ask me for work in class, but they may not be printed by the time you need them, so plan ahead.
Can I use the internet to find the answer to questions on an assignment or study guide?Yes and no. The Internet is an amazing tool for learning, but it also can be very frustrating to find information about the topics we are covering in class. Utah Studies is only taught in Utah and most of what you find will be articles from professional historians (tough to read for most students) or random information with no clear source (which means it is likely not accurate or potentially biased). Students who use the Internet to do their Utah Studies assignments typically spend several more hours finding the information than students who use the online book and other links from our webpage. Save yourself time! Use the class resources first!
Can I redo an assignment/quiz/test?Yes, but remember: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity! If you have not done your classwork, study guide, etc. you are not likely to improve your score until those things are complete!!
